PSSP U11 Girls Football Festival

Friday 20 March 2026 – Plymouth Marjon University

The PSSP U11 Girls Football Festival welcomed 16 schools to Plymouth Marjon University for an exciting afternoon of football. The standard of play was excellent throughout, with many closely contested matches and plenty of enthusiasm from all the girls taking part.

Matches were expertly officiated by the ‘Young Whistlers’, a group of girls from PSSP secondary schools who recently completed their refereeing qualification under the guidance of Leadership and Volunteering Co‑ordinator, Howard Turner. Their confidence and professionalism added greatly to the smooth running of the festival.

To keep things fair and fun, the 16 teams were randomly split into three pools.  After a series of competitive games, the winners of each pool earned the honour of representing Plymouth at the Devon County Cup in May 2026.

Pool Winners – County Cup Qualifiers

  • 🥇 Montpelier Primary School
  • 🥇 Manadon Vale Primary School
  • 🥇 Leigham Primary School

A huge well done to everyone who attended—players, staff, and Young Whistlers. The festival was a fantastic celebration of girls’ football, teamwork, and sportsmanship.
