For the first time in 3 years rain didn’t stop play for the week long outdoor and adventurous activities programme at Mount Edgecumbe which was organised by the Sir John Hunt School Sports Partnership!
Everyday different primary schools (30 in total) were picked up from school by coach and taken over on the Cremyl ferry to Mount Edgecumbe to take part in a range of Outdoor and Adventurous activities. Approximately 1000 year 6s took part in the week which (including students from Millford, Courtlands and Mount Tamar Special schools). The range of activities included finding clues to earn equipment to build shelters; problem solving and sports activities lead by our secondary leadership academy students; and creative art, during which students used the natural resources to create pictures on large canvases. I would like to thank all the staff involved especially Sophie Kidd, our work experience student who was excellent and our outstanding secondary school pupils for their work with the younger students. What a stunning location to spend the week!
