Saturday 19th June saw the second annual Operation Checkmate day which is held in Plymouth City Centre and organised by NHS Plymouth. The idea of the day is to raise men's awareness of health issues including weight management and fitness which is where the Sir John Hunt Sports Partnership came in. With our highly trained staff delivering challenges and sessions using the dance mates, virtual cricket and indoor rowing machines which were nicely linked to the big screen over 200 males (and at times females) took part in various activities including the 'how far can you row in two minutes challenge'
Every challenger received a drinks bottle for taking part with winners from each age category winning a range of prizes including Pavillions skate and swim tickets to a chance to see Jimmy Carr.
