Tamarside Indoor Athletics Festival

Tamarside Indoor athletic’s festivals                            Wednesday 5th May 2010-05-10

 

On Wednesday 5th May 2010 Tamarside year 12 sports leaders organised and hosted an indoor athletic’s festival with the assistance of the year 10 sports leaders. The following school’s participated in this indoor athletic’s festival they were:

 

Ernesettle

St Budeaux

Victoria road

Weston Mill

 

The day consisted of athletic events and activities, It started off with the year 10 sports leaders coaching the pupils on how to do the following events:

 

High jump

Board jump

Long jump

Shot putt

Javelin

Sprinting (turns)

 

Following the coaching of the sporting activities the school’s competed in a competition consisting of two heats.  The first heat began at 11.20 and commenced till 12.30, following the first heat whilst the scores for each schools where being tallied the pupils of the school went to there lunch for 1 hour.

 

Once the lunch finished the pupils returned to participate in heat two which commenced at 1.40 and finished at 2.20. The students had a drink break before starting the relays and sprints. Following this scored were tallied up the total points and announced the places in which the school finished. Out of all the schools that participated in the day the overall winning school was Ernesettle.
