SSCo Conference 2010
Wednesday 17 March saw some of our SSCo’s, Paula Morgan our administrator and myself attend the annual Devon SSCo conference in Tiverton.
With guest speakers such as Olympic 4 x 100m relay champion Jason Gardner and the YST’s south west development manager Chris Rawlings, the day was inspirational to say the least.
Jason Gardner spoke of the people who inspired him throughout his running career including primary school teachers, secondary P.E teachers and coaches both at local and international level, basically the likes of you and me.
During the day we attended various workshops looking at inspiring young people using the Olympics, gifted and talented multi skill academies and making links with health to name just a few.
The day was then concluded with an address from Chris Rawlings who assured us that the work we are doing is making a big impact, we just need to tell more people about it.
On that note please feel free to use articles and information from our website to populate your school newsletters so together we can tell people what we do and inspire the Jason Gardner’s of the future.
