90 Students took part in the final round of the Plymouth Schools Orienteering Championship Event today at Mount Edgecumbe. The final is the culmination of a long season which started with a day of coaching and a competition at the River Dart Country Park in November. Since then Majon and Devon Orienteering club have offered coaching to schools and a league was created which ran at Devonport Park, Marjon and Central Park. Congratulations should once again go to the Devonport High School for Boys and Girls Combined Team which finished today’s team event in a time of 2 hours 6 minutes.
All students that attended were encouraged to join Devon Orienteering Club further details of which can be found at http://www.devonorienteering.co.uk.
My thanks must go to Alan Simpson from Devon Orienteering Club, Su Porter from Marjon and to her team of dedicated helpers.
