On Thursday 28th January approximately 60 girls from Stoke academic council attended a Year 3/4 football evening at Stoke Damerel Community College. It was run by Devon FA who are promoting girls football in Plymouth. The girls were taught basic skills and then had a round robin competition. A number of Stoke Damerel Community College students in the Leadership Academy were involved in the warm ups and refereeing. Girls from year 11 and 13 who play football for College and outside clubs also assisted. All the girls really enjoyed the evening and were in good spririts despite how cold it was. The girls were issued with leaflets to join Keyham Colts football club who will be starting training at Stoke Damerel Community College on the Astro from Tuesday 4th February 4pm - 5pm. Parents and teachers were impressed with Mark Young and Matt from the Devon FA and commented on their enthusiasm and commitment to promoting girls football in Plymouth.

On Friday 27th January 3 classes of Key Stage 1 children from Austin Farm Primary School helped to pilot and develop our new Key Stage 1 Mobile Fitness Centre.
