First Ever Dance Mat Competition.
Sir John Hunt School Sports Partnership held its first ever Dance Mat competition today and although numbers were limited all who took part had a great time.
First up were the primary schools with each team consisting of 12 pupils from year 5 and 6. After a brief demonstration and warm up it was on with the competition. Each student took part in an individual dance and team relay with each percentage score going towards the team total. After a close battle Widewell came out victors scoring a massive 503.7%.
Next up were the secondary school age groups which turned out be an all female affair, well all apart from the late entry from the SSCo team who consisted of Miss Warring, Miss Auton, Mr Whaley and Mr Carpenter who took on the well practiced students. Again each student took part in one individual dance and a team relay and again it was very close. Eventually Sir John Hunt came out on top with a well rehearsed team scoring 671.5%.
Well done to all who took part and as feedback was very positive look out for next year’s dance off!!
