A brilliant and unusual multi-skills skipping festival with Key Stage 1 students showing great skill and resolve in learning a new skill.
Students from four schools took part in the Tamarside skipping festival; students were put in mixed groups with students from other schools. This gave them the chance to mix and get to know other students; it also allowed the festival to take on a non-competitive nature.
The festival was run by the Tamarside Sports Leaders, they planned and ran the event from start to finish and did a sterling job!
The groups were small and all primary students had a carousel of different skipping activities. All the skills they learnt culminated in an individual and group skip at the end!
As a surprise the teachers and teaching assistants were also allowed to join in on the group skipping activity.
All students and staff really enjoyed the activities and hopefully next year it will be bigger and better.
