  • Free Coaching sessions in Rugby League. Joe Catcheside,South West Regional Manager RFL has asked me to share this information with you.

The Rugby Football League, which is a Priority Sport for KS3 boys in the Competitions Matrix for the Spring term, is offering the following to all secondary schools in the Sir John Hunt SSP-

Three free extra-curricular coaching sessions (minimum) for Year 8 and Year 9 boys, timetabled to your requirements;- coaching delivered by UKCC Level 2 Coaches (who can run sessions unsupervised) so the minimum involvement is required from school.

Exit routes to new community junior teams at Plymouth Titans RLFC (season May-July)-

Four free rugby balls per team.

A single-day festival nines competition (May or June) with a trophy and medals.

There are also CPD and UKCC coaching courses available for those who want them. The competitions and training will contribute towards PESSYP survey data. This is mirroring competitions in Exeter and Torbay, with the support of the community clubs there, to create sustainable competitions and outcomes through community rugby league. It is anticipated that there will be a Community Rugby League coach in Plymouth in 2010 facilitating the delivery of further Rugby League programmes within the Competitions framework.

It has been providing a wealth of material and opportunity for pupils and teachers across the country since this time. With the growth of Dance in schools, we have received more requests from PDMs asking for partnership licenses to reach a greater number of partnership schools for less cost. As a result, we have provided an extremely economic solution in the form of ‘Partnership Licenses’. Please find below the details. Please note that this includes a site license for all your partnership schools for one year. Both pupils and staff can use their login from home, too. Staff and pupils can download resources for use offline and remain copyright free for the whole year. Those of you who have used the portal know how extensive it is given that is provides everything for teaching and learning Dance from Foundation Stage to Key Stage 4 / GCSE.
