Widewell takes the spoils in the final partnership cross country event
The final Sir John Hunt cross country competition took place last night in sunny but windy conditions at Eggbuckland Community College. The course which was the shortest of the three but also one of the most testing with many hills and banks to climb attracted six schools from the partnership which encompassed over 100 young athletes from years five and six.
After some tough races it was Widewell who not only took the event award but also the mini league award walking away with medals and a trophy for their efforts. Well done also to the individual winners of each category which were Kelsey Lowe - Whitleigh (year 5 girls), Kallum Graddon – Austin farm (year 5 boys), Tiegan Skirton – Whitleigh (year 6 girls) and Fletcher Cook – Eggbuckland Vale (year 6 boys).
The next cross country event will be the Plymouth and West Devon schools event which takes place on Thursday 5th November at Staddiscombe.
