Primary Inclusive Boccia 14.12.2017

A very relaxed and friendly event to finish of this years’ festivals this afternoon. 4 teams came along to Tor Bridge High to take part in our Boccia event aimed at introducing children to the sport and having some fun playing against other schools.

We had 2 teams from Cann Bridge, a team from Tor Bridge Primary and 1 team from Eggbuckland Vale join us today to take part in our round robin style event.

As well as learning a new sport and new skills, we used this festival to celebrate the School Games Value of Self Belief; we talked about how important it is when trying new things to never give up and to believe that we will get better with practice. We all agreed at the end of the event that the more games we played, the better we seemed to get as our shots were more accurate and we were better able to judge how hard to roll the ball.

I would like to personally thank Kat and Lucy (Plymouth University) for volunteering their time once again to come along and lead some games – nothing is ever too much trouble and the children think you are both brilliant so thank you.

I would also like to thank our very own young leader from Tor Bridge High – Bethan, who helped me to set up/clear away and worked with brilliantly with the children as well. Once again, I really enjoyed this event – it is always one of my favourites; it is so great to see children from different schools, mixing and playing against each other and generally having a good time playing sport. I am looking forward to seeing you all again at our next week in the New Year. Have a great Christmas everyone.
