Plymouth SSP XC Warm Up Two

This year’s second primary cross country warm up event took part in warm and relatively dry conditions at Eggbuckland College. Supported by leaders from Eggbuckland Community College the event once again saw its biggest field at this location with over 300 runners taking part.

First up were the year 3-4 girls and once again the entry bigger than ever before. First across the line was Sienna from Woodford whilst in second place this week was Lola from St Peters RC who was just ahead of Cassie from Mary Dean's who took bronze.

The boys also didn’t disappoint, and this week it was Lochlin from Goosewell who finished. Taking silver for the second time this year in the boy’s year 3-4 category was Rory from Goosewell, whilst in third was one of his team mates Sammy.

The year 5-6 girls field increased this week with 13 teams and with the course now getting slightly wet under foot it was an exciting start as the 100 plus runners headed for the first corner. Crossing the line first was once again Lily from Montpelier, with Issy from Manadon Vale not far behind in second, whist Ava from Compton finished in the bronze position.

The last race of the day was the boy’s year 5-6 category, which is always highly contested. George from Compton A led the way, crossing the line in first, however Ewan from Woodford, who finished in third last week, made it one better this week moving into silver. The final medal went to Jaiden from Mary Dean's who took bronze.

This week Goosewell featured in all four of the team too Three’s , they also lead two of the Team culiminative scores. These team scores will be carried over to next week’s warm up at Coombe Dean which will see another sixteen teams competing to be crowned warm up champions.
