3 V 3 Basketball Trails- This event is the trial for the Devon Games to Inspire.The top 2 teams will represent Plymouth at the Devon Games To Inspire on Saturday 30th June at Okehampton. There will be one age group open to School Years 9, 10 & 11.Each squad should consist of a minimum of 4 players and a maximum of 5. Teams cannot take the court with less than 2 players. Additional SEN / Special School Events
SEN events and festivals continue to go well across our partnership schools.
Students have enjoyed a variety of regular competitions this year-including rowing, basketball, football and boccia.
In addition to good support from the special schools, increasing numbers of mainstream primary and secondary schools are becoming involved and are using the events to enhance sporting provision.
We are looking forward to a busy term of events and opportunities for all students with SEN and would invite all schools to become involved. Please refer to the calendar of events for details of this term’s opportunities.

ENGLAND TALENT DAYS-- Could you be a Paralympic Footballer? The FA are looking for potential Great Britain Paralympic or England International footballers of the future - Devon County FA would like to hear from players age 10-18 who may be eligible in the following categories: Cerebral Palsy, Hearing Impaired, Partially Sighted, Amputee, or Learning Disability. Ever wanted to try Ice Hockey? Now's your chance! And..it's free!
Come along and take part in a free training session with qualified coaches and then compete against other secondary schools. All kit and equipment will be provided. This event is open to Year 7 & 8 students, girls and boys. Maximum of 8 in a team (as many teams as you want).For further information please contact Claire Crowther at crowtherc@ridgeway.plymouth.sch.uk .This event can be found on the calendar on 15th June 2012.
Triathlon/Aquathlon Trials-These will now be held on the same day- 14th June from 4-5.30pm at All Saints Academy.
The Triathlon is open to Years 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10 and is for any boys/girls who live/go to school in Plymouth who are not County standard in any of the 3 disciplines. It is the trial for the Devon Games to Inspire which is held on 30th June. Schools will not be expected to take winning teams to the DGTI- this is organised by the Sports Development Unit.

The Aquathlon is a swim/run for Years 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10 and is for your top athletes/swimmers or anyone who would like to be considered. Two teams will go through to compete in the Summer Games on 6th July

Plymouth team trials – Street Sports.
Venue:Central Park, Skate park. Dates: Saturday 5th and 12th May, 11am to 1pm.Age group: School Years 7 to 11.

TOP Sportsability Training -Do you need support to teach fully inclusive PE? Are you meeting the needs of every single child at your school?
With the increased focus on the attainment and progress of sub groups highlighted by the new OFSTED framework it is more important than ever that learning is differentiated effectively. TOP Sportsability training can be provided by the School Sport Partnership in directed time for your whole staff or department in a 2 hour staff meeting. This inclusive activities programme provides teachers and adults supporting learning with more ways of including young people with disabilities in physical education, particularly those who have higher support needs. It also creates a medium for the integration of young disabled and non-disabled people and provides an introduction to competitive disability sport. TOP Sportsability consists of an easy to use interactive online resource, tutor and deliverer training and basic equipment which can be loaned from the School Sport Partnership. Water Safety Awareness Week -The Royal Life Saving Society UK (RLSS UK) launched their first Water Safety Awareness Week last year, and following its success, they have decided to go ahead with it again this year from Saturday 16th to Sunday 24th June 2012.
