Option 4 - FA Primary Teachers’ Award delivered by FA

The course is designed to develop teachers’ confidence to teach high quality PE and support teachers with planning KS1 and KS2 PE lessons.

The course is completely free and you will gain a recognised qualification.

The course is applicable for those who wish to build on their existing knowledge but those with little confidence of PE or football are particularly encouraged to attend!

The course will be predominantly practical. You will also receive a free resource book on completing the course.

NB – This is a certificated course so will need the full 6hrs and will finish at 6pm

Aims and Objectives

Tutors will present ideas for lessons using games based around movement skills for 5–11 year olds and the basic principles of invasion games; both of which are linked to the national curriculum.

Tutors will show how differentiation and assessment for learning can easily be embedded in PE lessons.

Tutors will give guidance to those teachers who run a school team.

Course Outcomes

By the end of this course, the learner will be able to:

Set up organised football lessons, Recognise the role invasion games have in KS1 and KS2 PE purpose and study, Organise basic FUNdamental games to help develop movement skills, Modify learning activities to manage difference, Set up small sided games for young players, Help with school teams and provide further playing opportunities for pupils, Access further information and knowledge of Football coaching
