WHAT IS SUPER8?

SUPER8

• Is an eight event format competition designed as a stepping stone from QuadKids at Primary School level to traditional athletics

• Is quick, fun and simple to run

• Is a multi-event team based competition where individual performances are scored using a points table and the winners are the team with the highest cumulative points score

• Allows all athletes to take part in both a track and field event and a relay

• Can take place on a 400m tartan or grass track provided in the latter case there are proper facilities for the shot, long jump, high jump and javelin

• Captures all match performance data via the website, www.quadkids.org, providing an instant dynamic league table of results and individual rankings

HOW DOES THE COMPETITION WORK?

SUPER8

• There are 3 different age categories – START (Year 7), JUNIOR (Years 8 and 9) and INTER (Years 10 and 11)

• Mixed teams of 8 girls and 8 boys or single sex teams comprising 8 girls or 8 boys compete with the scores of the all athletes added together to give the team score

• More than one team can be entered from each school and club

• All field events start at the same time. Track events take place alongside these.

• Girls do the track events first and boys do the field events first

• In a mixed age group competition the weights and measures will default to those of the lower age group
